
| Honda VFR800 (yellow) This model was built as a commission build for a guy in Texas who once owned this motorcycle. It was converted from the Fujimi Honda VFR800 Police Motorcycle and required a lot of work. The detailed description of the process can be found in the Honda VFR800 Build Notes (5 MB PDF) Base Kit(s): Fujimi Honda VFR800 (kit number 4968728141305) Finished: May 2020 Modifications/Additions: - opened up 6 vents on fairing and added screening to largest one - opened up hole under gas tank and added cylinder heads (cast from Honda NR engine) - filled in back of swing arm - mirrors from parts box - handlebars modified from Honda CB750 kit parts - remove knee pads from gas tank - scratchbuilt rear seat cover using sheet styrene - shortened rear fender - exhaust collector pipes made from 2 mm diameter solder - main exhaust pipe from 4 mm diameter bonsai tree aluminum wire - machined muffler with parts box photoetch hanger - scratchbuilt brake pedal and gear shift pedal lever - Hobby Design photoetch chain, looped around machined rear sprocket - rear brake disk machined with ventilation holes using milling machine with dividing head - custom decals from Precision Design Co (PDC.ca) - added brake and clutch lines - scratchbuilt instrument panel with custom printed gauges - Honda CBR1100XX front forks (lower part only) and passenger footpegs - Top Studio tire valves and bodywork rivets (type A) - Meng bolt heads replaced all of the visible bolt heads - scratchbuilt rear shock, with separate spring - custom license plate - Bodywork paint is automotive basecoat yellow which is an exact match to the real Honda colour, Tamiya clear pearl and four coats of Tamiya clear; other colours from Tamiya acrylics and Alclad II metallics Click on Thumbnail to see detailed image.
