| 1956 Ford Thunderbird - ('American Graffiti' movie) This is the start of what I hope will be a collection of cars from the movie 'American Graffiti'. This T'bird was driven by Suzanne Somers, who was the dream girl of Richard Dreyfuss' character Kurt Henderson. It was very difficult to determine exactly the license plate number of this car from screenshots of the DVD, so WLC 283 is my best guess. AMT released an American Graffiti version of this kit and the license plate in that kit (I believe) is JPM 420. After completing the model I realized that the spare tire cover is incorrect. The movie car has a solid center with a Thunderbird logo. I don't know if I will try and correct this later Base Kit(s): AMT 1956 Ford Thunderbird (kit number 1449) Finished: August 2026 Modifications/Additions: - gauges from BestModelCarParts with clear UV resin lenses - dashboard vent scratchbuilt with metal screen - flocked floor - Molotow chrome on interior trim, door handles and window cranks - distributor from Greg's Scale Model Accessories - heater hoses, fuel line, some electrical wiring - scratchbuilt hood hinges - scratchbuilt rear suspension dampers and front suspension coil springs - custom printed license plate - Model Car Garage photoetch set (grill, emblems, scripts, door handles, locks and radiator cap) - clear acetate used on rear and side windows - body paint is Tamiya LP-2 white, airbrushed, interior is LP-39 racing white and LP-21 Italian red, airbrushed Click on Thumbnail to see detailed image.
