Star Wars TIE Fighter - Battle Damaged
My choice for the 2006 Guelph Plastic Modellers Group 12 hour build was to do this ship, leftover from the TIE X1 project.  Instead
of building out of the box, I added some battle damage to the solar wings.  Somewhere along the way I lost the pilot and one of the
club members donated a 1/72 scale fighter pilot that I adopted.

Base Kit(s):        1/72 scale Fine Molds TIE Fighter

Finished:            Februrary 2006

Paint was as per intructions, using Tamiya equivalents for smaller parts.
For the main pod, Tamiya XF-66 Light Gray was thinned and shot through an airbrush.
The solar panels were damaged using a combination of a hot cutting knife (like a soldering iron) and some work with a Dremel tool
The solar panels are Tamiya X-18 semi-gloss black straight from the can, it seems to be glossier than thinning the bottle paint.
Black enamel wash was added to bring out the details and pastels were used on some of the battle damage.
