Kawasaki Ninja 600R
This was my first commission build if a motorcycle model.  I was contacted in the fall by a woman who wanted a bike model of her
father's motorcycle - a 1985 Kawasaki Ninja 600R.  I wasn't sure this was possible, but Tamiya did a kit of the Kawasaki GPz400R
for that year.  Except for some decals, and the engine size, the GPz400R Japanese bike was identical to the Ninja 600R American
bike.

I ordered some Ninja and Kasasaki decals, but they did not arrive by the time the bike needed to be shipped out for Christmas.  I
will need to make a road trip in the spring to attach the decals.  The bike was permanently mounted on a Tamiya display case
using metal pins through the front wheel and kickstand legs.

Base Kit(s):   Tamiya Kawasaki GPz400R (kit number 14045)

Finished:        Dec 2016

Modifications/Additions:
- bare metal foil behind turn signals and stop light
- scratchbuilt reflectors on fairing
- drilled out brake disks
- paint is Tamiya gloss white, bright red and black, decanted and airbrushed, followed by Tamiya clear from the can, black acrylics
and Alclad elsewhere, airbrushed.
